15U AAA, 15U AA, 13U AAA Single Season Tryouts

These teams provide a highly competitive environment for players who are committed to developing their skills and representing COMBA across the province.

Commitment Expectations

Participation on a COMBA single-season team requires a significant commitment from both players and families starting with the respective team winter programs in January.

  • Season Attendance: Players are expected to attend at least 90% of all practices and games during the season from early April to mid August which may include Provincials, Westerns or Nationals.

  • Weekly Schedule: Teams typically practice 2-3 times a week and play four games on most weekends as well as attend tournaments throughout the season.

  • High Performance Environment: Athletes must be prepared to deliver consistent effort, display accountability and exceptional teamwork.

Travel Requirements

Single season competition involves regular travel throughout the province. Families should expect:

  • Frequent travel within the Interior region, including communities such as Kamloops, Vernon and Penticton.

  • 8–10 trips per season to the Lower Mainland (Vancouver & area) and possibly 1-2 trips to Vancouver Island. Their schedules will often require early departures from school and overnight stays.

  • Weekend-long series of 4 games or tournaments with substantial time on the road.

  • Player fees start at approximately $2,500 & up, with total expenses potentially increasing depending on travel, coaching costs and tournament schedules.

Playing Time

Please note these teams are NOT fair play and there is no expectation of playing time throughout the season.

Financial Commitment

Competing at the single season level comes with higher costs to support winter ball facilities, coaching costs, travel and tournament play.

Fundraising Opportunities

To help offset costs, there will be parent-led fundraising initiatives throughout the season. Participation is strongly encouraged to help make the season more affordable.

Tryout Timelines
Tryouts begin the week of January 5th for 13UAAA & 15UAAA.
The 15U AA selection will begin on January 17th, following the completion of the 15UAAA team evaluations.

Further dates, times & location, expectations and the details on the process will be shared directly by the coaches following the conclusion of registration to those who have registered.
